Useful Trick For Cleaning The Washing Machine

Cleaning may be a bit cumbersome the first time, but afterwards the washing machine can be easily cleaned of dirt and bad smells. This also makes the laundry smell better.

Useful trick for cleaning the washing machine

The washing machine is one of the most widely used household appliances, but we rarely think of the fact that the appliance itself needs to be cleaned. Otherwise bacteria or mold will spread, which cause an unpleasant smell.

At first you are not aware of this,  but gradually unpleasant smells arise  that not only develop in the washing machine but also mean that the laundry no longer smells good and fresh.

Moisture and fungi also tend to collect on the rubber seals of the door  , which spread a bad smell.

There are various products that can help to clean the washing machine without the need for common chemicals. Cleaning the washing machine regularly can help prevent bad odors.

Today is a trick that will help you make your washing machine shine like new again. Try it yourself!

Trick against dirt and bacteria in the washing machine

Hydrogen peroxide

To remove mold,  we use products with antimicrobial and antifungal properties.

ingredients

  • 3 liters of water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (62 ml)
  • 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide (250 ml)

use

  • Mix all three ingredients in a large bowl.

After that, here’s how to clean your washing machine to get rid of fungus, bacteria, and bad smells.

1. Clean the rubber seal

The first thing you should do is to clean the rubber seal, under which a lot of dirt usually collects. If you can remove them, be careful while doing so so that you know how to put them back on afterwards.

Spray the self-made disinfectant on the rubber seal, then clean  it with a cloth or sponge.

You have to clean all areas all around so that there is no residue. When you are sure that you have removed all of the mold, bacteria, or dirt, spritz a little more disinfectant on it and wipe it off with a dry cloth.

2. Clean the washing drum and hose

Washing machine

If mold builds up in the cistern, it is very likely that other parts of the washing machine will also find it.

The rubber seal is now clean, so you can clean  the washer drum and hoses to avoid  leaving any dirt or bad smell.

The washing drum must of course be empty for this. Put the self-made product in the cistern and program a long wash cycle with hot water.

3. Prevent mold

When the washing machine is clean and smelling good again,  you can easily make sure it stays that way.

If you leave the door open after washing, the machine can be ventilated so that microorganisms can spread less well.

But even if there is no noticeable odor  , it is advisable to carry out a brief cleaning once a week  so that no dirt or bacteria accumulate.

  • Then pour this mixture into a spray can and use it to inject the rubber gasket on the door and any other areas where moisture has accumulated.
