This is the story of Lynlee, the child who was born twice and moved the world

Lynlee Hope is a little girl from Lewisville, Texas (United States of America). The baby was only a few months old and the world was already upset.

Because the official moment of birth, which is registered as a birthday, is not the first day on which little Lynlee saw the light of day for the first time.

In the 16th week of pregnancy, a routine ultrasound revealed a tumor on the baby’s tailbone. This tumor is also known in medical circles as the coccyx teratoma.

Because of the position of little Lynlee and the size of the tumor, her life was in great danger. Because the tumor led to an impairment of normal blood circulation and the baby was threatened with heart failure.

Therefore, a double intervention urgently had to be carried out.

Lynlee’s intervention

So the little baby first had to be taken out of the mother’s stomach, similar to a caesarean section.

The tumor was then removed in an operation and the baby was then placed back in the mother’s uterus to complete the development of the little one.

The little one only had a 50% chance of surviving. But the parents decided to take the risk.

Little Lynlee then remained connected to the placenta via the umbilical cord during the operation and thus supplied herself with sufficient oxygen.

The surgical intervention took place in the 23rd week of pregnancy. At this point, the tumor was putting pressure on the little girl’s heart.

At the time of the operation , the tumor was almost the same size as the child itself.

The operation was by no means easy, and little Lynlee’s heart stopped even when most of the tumor was removed.

But the baby was stronger. It was then placed back in the mother’s uterus after the operation. The mother spent the next 12 weeks in bed rest. Thus, the most important growth phases of the little ones in the mother’s womb could be completed.

Little Lynlee was born on June 6th, 2016 for the “second time”. A few days later, another operation was performed to completely remove the remains of the tumor.

Then the baby’s condition continued to improve.

Lynlee is currently at home with her parents, recovering. The little one has a great desire to finally begin her life carefree.
